I have an old coaxial cable for regular cable but dont know if I need something better for HDTV…..
also…if I use a digital splitter, what is the difference between a 7 and 3.5 dB output?? Does that matter for the quality of the picture?

Are there any negatives or cons in buying a HDTV instead of a computer Monitor to use for my apple laptop? I would like to get something large. Anyone have experience in using a newer model 50-55″ widescreen HDTV with a computer? Is it completely safe? I want a 50″ but I dont want to damage the TV.

I own a 26″ Sanyo HDTV and it is hooked up to a SD satellite receiver, I have tried composite cables and s-video and the picture is viewable but still not clean. I have seen gold plated composite cables at the store, and what I really want to know is, do these gold cables help any with the SD picture on my HDTV. Like would they clean up the little artifacts in the picture. Or it just a waste of my money.

I have one of the older generation 360s before HDMI became standard for Xbox. I only seem to be able to get 480P and not the 1080 my set is capable of. The Xbox works fine but when I toggle the switch for HDTV on the Xbox I can’t get a signal on either AV 1 or 2. What am I doing wrong? Do I need extra wires?

The cable for the 360 is a HD one and the model is a LG 26inch LCD. Ive already gone into the hdtv settings inside the 360 dashboard and played around but it still seems more pixelated then i expected.

I want to connect one HDMI cable per source to a receiver, and one HDMI output to the HDTV and get the audio to play through the receiver without additional cables. I think I don’t want HDMI passthrough. What do I want?
