Great second TV for the price

by R. Wilson 2009-09-09, 10 people found this review helpful
I bought this TV for $399 for my home office to watch while I'm working and it also doubles as a very nice computer monitor. The picture is very good and the on-screen menu is intuitive and easy to navigate. The SD card reader is a nice feature. I just pulled the card out of my camera, inserted it into the TV and watched a slide show of some recent vacation pictures.

I ordered it on Amazon, but was sold through J&R. The box had a label saying they inspected and added additional packing before shipping. I don't know what they added but the TV arrived without a scratch. (I had just returned another TV that I ordered from warehouse club's website because it was damaged in shipping, so I was happy to finally get one that wasn't in pieces)

When it comes to primary TV's, I'm a firm believer that bigger is better, so this is probably not a TV that I would put in a living room or family room. But I will probably recommend it to my parents if/when they are looking to replace their old CRT TV in their small living room. They're currently watching a little 20" TV, so this would be a step up for them.

Overall, this TV serves its purpose quite well for the price.

Take note: the height dimension listed Amazon is without the stand. With the stand attached, it is 21 3/4" tall and I had to adjust my shelves to fit it in. It would have been a tight fit according to the dimensions that Amazon listed, but no-can-do with the stand.

What a deal!

I needed a new TV for my room and decided to go ahead and upgrade to HD. I researched many models for about a month and finally decided to purchase this one. The picture is phenomenal! I have a new 50" plasma and another 42" LCD in other rooms of my house but this TV actually beats them all in picture quality. Another problem I have read about many times with these smaller LCD TV's is the sound quality. People are always complaining about the quality of the sound and/or the low volume. This TV has spectacular sound quality and the volume gets much louder than you would ever need.Having two HDMI ports is great plus the SD card reader is another cool feature. The TV itself looks great and feels very sturdy, high quality. Overall I would give this TV an A+ and would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

panasonic lcd tv

The Panasonic Viera C12 series, 32 inch tv is my first lcd tv. I have had a flat screen crt tv from sharp for about 4-5 years. the Sharp tv was great for what it was and have only good things to say about it, but it was getting old, occupied too much space and wanted a slick LCD. My girlfriend has an 37 inch LCD from Samsung and i have to say i was never too impressed with it so i wanted a different brand. I got the Panasonic for under $500 which was absolutely great and i am extremely satisfied. Firstly i have to say that the picture quality is better than the Samsumg and it has great features. I have only basic cable but i do get some hd channels which look fantastic. Also i love the fact that you can easily turn the tv screen to a giant computer screen by hooking one cable up to your computer. I tend to watch some european soccer online and being able to see it on the tv screen was one thing i was looking for in a LCD. THe TV also has this cool feature where you can put in a digital camera memory stick and it will show all the pics on the tv. While this is not a reason in itself to buy it, it is a nice add-on when you want to check out how pictures look without having to download them on the computer first. Also i find the menu of the tv quite easy, simple and very user friendly.
I am very happy with the purchase from a quality & price perspective and would recommend this .
