The signal from the HD cable box seems to be jammed/scrambled/distorted every once in a while when a certain type of commercial or a computer graphic is shown. I’ve checked the component cable and it’s not the problem. The TV is a Philips 4″ plasma and the tv receiver is a Philips FTR 9965.
I have an analog output for an external monitor and I would like to be able to get a cable that will go from this to either standard Vid/Audio RCA, HDMI or S-Video. I was going to order the catalog online, but don’t know what cable I need. Thank you.
I have a 32″ Insignia HDTV 1080p, and when I watch standard definition channels with the TV, they still look bad even with a Comcast HD cable box. The picture looks blown out, and it’s fuzzy. However, when I watch the HD equivalent of that channel, it looks so much better and the picture is nice and clear (as should be.) So, shouldn’t standard definition channels look better with an HD box? They still look bad.
I tried to use a dvi to hdmi cable, but when I did that the picture kept going in and out and it was really big. I can hook the box up to the tv using the normal rca cables, but it doesn’t get the true hd quallity. Please help
I am connecting it from the apartment wall with the same type of cable I plugged into my comcast cable box, the kind where you screw it into a port. The problem is that the tv shows then come on my HDTV, but very blurry. Is there a way to somehow convert the signal to HD? Thanks!
Recently, Cox Communications highered their prices. I currently have a digital cable box that provides HD channels. Ultimately, its becoming very expensive..as we are paying over $100 a month for cable and internet. If i downgrade our cable, and remove the box and go with expanded basic cable..will my HDTV pick up HD channels?
I have an Olevia 37 LCD TV, a regular Xbox, an Emerson Home Theater, and a Motorola HD DVR cable Box. How can I connect them or where can I find a connection diagram, that tells me how. I have an HDMI cable, an A/V Component (for audio and video) and A/V Composite cables. I would like it that everything can run thru my home theater speakers. Note that the home theater is also a dvd player and has two composite in, one out, and only one components out.
I have a regular TiVo Series 2 box, with comcast HD. I was wondering how to best set this up. I dont know if you can put the HD cable to the TV & out A/V to the TiVo, or what. PLEASE DO NOT tell me to just get an HD TiVo, we’ve already spent more than enough getting a 50″ 1080p TV with the service. Thanks.
The TV is an LG 32LC7D. It outputs in 720p. My cable provider is Time Warner & I have HD service.
My cable box is connected via component and is set to output in 720p. There are 3 settings for screen size: Normal, Zoom, and Stretch. Normal doesn’t fill the screen, Zoom overfills the screen with the top and bottom edges clipped off, while Stretch fits perfectly (this is all when the TV is set to the 16:9 aspect ratio.)
The TV can be set to the following ratios: 16:9, Horizon, Zoom1, Zoom2, 4:3, and Set by Program. Combined with the cable box’s Stretch mode, I usually leave it on 16:9 and switch to 4:3 depending on the program. Despite its name, Set By Program seems to always appear in 4:3, even when I am watching a program I know is HD.
Is there a way to have my TV correctly autodetect whether the program is 16:9 or 4:3, so I don’t have to always be switching it manually?
My cable company (Grande Communications) does not rent them, but does sell them for $90.00. I was thinking I could get a better price online, but don’t know where.
